Fashion industry is known for changing and evolving with time which makes it so fascinating. Trends never remain constant but among these trends are some rules and myths which are expected to be followed no matter what. You would've probably heard of these rules and made choices concerning your outfits based on them. They don’t do justice to an industry so capricious and have to be debunked.
So here we go!!

#1 DON'T MIX PRINTS AND PATTERNS

For me this myth is the most unacceptable one as it just doesn't let you explore a whole bunch of options available in front of you. Lately, many celebrities and designers have been seen breaking off this myth which is legit awesome. So all the fashion lovers out there!! Now is the chance hit the shopping stores and grab some really cool print collection to mix match.

#2 DON'T MIX METALS (SPECIALLY GOLD & SILVER)

Mixing different metals can completely change the look of an outfit and in a good way if done in a proper manner. They can create a very attractive appearance and if you are looking for a bohemian kinda look I would highly recommend it.

#3 DON'T WEAR SOCKS WITH OPEN TOE FOOTWEAR

Right combination of socks and sandals matched with a suitable outfit could look great together!! Which is why this myth has to be smashed straight away. Moreover it becomes handy during the winters to create a distinct look without those expensive boots and other footwear.

#4 MATCH YOUR BAG WITH YOUR SHOES

This is so not necessary. I mean not that you can't follow this only it's not mandatory as long as you manage all the colors well. So don't think too hard the next time you decide to mix and match just go for it !!

#5 SWEATPANTS ARE JUST FOR  "HOME SWEET HOME"

Gone are those days! Yes you heard it right. Sweatpants are kinda becoming the new trend (They are wearing them even on runways). So time to get all the comfort with that stunning style . Debunking this one is my personal favorite.

#6 SEQUINS AND METALLICS ARE JUST FOR THE NIGHT

While those Sequins and Metallics look lovely in the evening with all their sparkle and everything it couldn't be said that they are way too over for the daylight. Given the right occasion they will go with it perfectly even during the day.

#7 HORIZONTAL STRIPES MAKE YOU LOOK FAT

It's a very popular belief that wearing clothes with horizontal stripes can make you look fat but i guess that's not completely true. Wear clothes that you like and if the horizontal striped ones appeal you then just wear them.

#6 PETITE SHOULDN'T WEAR LONG DRESSES

I don't see why short women shouldn't wear long skirts and gowns! Given that the length and the fitting is appropriate it looks beautiful on them. Plus no one should be excluded from the privilege of wearing those beauties.

#9 SPEND MORE TO GET GOOD QUALITY

Trust me guys this is nowhere written. Quality depends on a lot of factors and the same goes with price so directly linking the both is not completely fair. So buy the clothes you like and then maintain them properly I'm sure they will remain in good shape.

#10 YOU MUST WEAR A BELT WHEN YOU TUCK YOUR SHIRT OR T-SHIRT IN

While in most of the cases wearing a belt does enhance the outfit and make the whole look more appealing but then there are also the other cases where it does not. So just go with your instincts and don't let this rule influence your choice.

#11 DRESS ACCORDING TO YOUR BODY TYPE

So this basically means that you should wear tight fitting clothes if you're curvy and loose otherwise. And this does not hold true. Wear what you feel confident and comfortable in and you will shine trust me.

#12 DON'T PAIR NAVY BLUE WITH BLACK

This is so not true! Although this combinations might look a little weird when you try to imagine it in your head, it can look really great on actually wearing it with the right kind of shades (probably a little lighter shade of navy blue and a little darker shade of black). So give it a try when you go shopping the next time. You might just love the results!

#13 DRESS ACCORDING TO YOUR AGE

While it is widely believed that the type of garments one wears change with their age, the way it has to be followed depends solely on you. Choose what brightens you up from the inside and if that means following those crazy trends then do so. And who knows it might even make you look younger!

#14 DON'T WEAR HEELS IF YOU ARE TALL

This is completely untrue rather bias! In fact wearing those high heels will make your legs look taller and slender which is beautiful. There is a chance that you might look taller than the guys but nevermind 'cause girls could be taller than boys and that altogether is a different myth that has to be broken.

So this was it! I hope you found this useful (Let me know in the comments, this is my first blog post). Plus one thing that I wanted to tell you guys is that the way you dress tells a lot about you but not everything. So wear whatever you feel confident and comfortable in and kill it.
